Information processed when you visit

When your browser requests this website, the hosting service necessarily receives technical request information. This may include your IP address, the requested page, date and time, browser and device or system information, referrer information, request performance and errors, and an approximate city or country derived from your IP address. An IP address and some of these details can be personal information.

The website itself does not ask you to provide a name, email address, location, payment information or other content. It does not connect to the Test My Faith application database or authentication service.

Why we process it

Technical request information is processed only as necessary to:

  • send the pages and images you request;
  • maintain availability and diagnose errors;
  • protect the website and hosting network from misuse, fraud and security threats; and
  • comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests where required.

For delivery, reliability and security, the lawful basis is our legitimate interests in operating a small, secure public website. We consider this use limited and proportionate because the site is static, collects no visitor-submitted data and does not use the information for advertising or profiling. Where processing is required by law, the lawful basis is compliance with a legal obligation.

Hosting provider and international processing

The website is intended to be hosted by Vercel Inc., which provides hosting and content delivery. Vercel states that it processes traffic information for customer websites, including end-user IP addresses, IP-derived location and system configuration information. Vercel may use subprocessors and process information outside the UK. Its Data Processing Addendum describes safeguards including adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where applicable.

You can read Vercel’s Privacy Notice and Data Processing Addendum for further information.

Retention

The website code does not create a visitor account, analytics profile or separate visitor database. Hosting request information is retained according to Vercel’s service settings and policies. Vercel does not state one fixed retention period for all such information; it says information is kept for the minimum period needed for contractual and legal obligations, dispute resolution, security and other legitimate business purposes, and is then deleted or anonymised where possible. We will not retain any copy we obtain for troubleshooting or a rights request for longer than needed for that purpose or an applicable legal obligation.

Cookies and similar technology

At the date of this policy, the public website code sets no cookies and writes nothing to local storage. It includes no advertising, behavioural analytics, account session, service worker or embedded third-party content. It therefore displays no cookie-consent banner. If non-essential cookies or similar technology are introduced later, this policy and the consent controls will be updated before they are used.

Your UK data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • ask whether we process your personal information and request a copy;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to erase information or restrict its use;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests; and
  • receive or transfer information you provided where the right to data portability applies.

These rights can be subject to legal conditions and exemptions. There is normally no charge. Contact hello@testmyfaith.co.uk to make a request. We may need enough information to identify the relevant request record and verify that we are responding to the correct person.

You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. See ico.org.uk.

Changes

This policy will be reviewed before the mobile application launches. The application will have its own policy covering its actual account, location, gameplay and purchase processing before those features are made public.
